  • Zebra's winter camouflage by MooseMan

Zebras are generally identified as one of the beautiful animals on the plains of central Aftrica, but that’s because we only see pictures of them there. THEY CAN’T HIDE!! In a country like Canada, the zebra populations seems to disappear in the winter, and this is NOT because they migrate to Texas and Florida. The operative word is “seems”... who would be foolish enough to think that zebras ACTUALLY disappear?!! Pffffffffff….

  • Making the most of winter by Fremme

Natasha and I out of one of our snowshoeing hikes through the forest here in Whistler near Logger’s Lake along a trail called Riverside. All to say, it’s a beautiful 10km hike through the forest. Even if we had a slow start to our winter, I can tell you right now that winter is here and so is the snow as you can tell here. We were first to brake trail here in about 2 feet of fresh snow. Anyhow, this shot was taken on one of many bridges on this trail, HDR, so composed of 3 braketted images. Canon Xt, Sigma 17 to 35 mm lens , HDR image.and better viewed full screen / Cheers

  • A forgotten time. by Della McMullan

The lazy days of summer’s end spent skipping stones at Rocky Point with friends. Rocky Point inlet is located in Port Moody British Columbia, a 10 minute drive from my house, it gives us that necessary ocean fix that my family seems to need to revive our souls and keep things in prospective. / A forgotten time because we are currently under about 3 feet of snow…which doesn’t happen often here…. canon A530 / SS 1/200 / F5.6 / As Is / untouched

  • Very manly juniper tree by MooseMan

You can’t always tell if a tree is male or female, but in other cases there are clues that can lead you to the answer. For instance, you might immediately identify this tree as female because of the very nice round curves located in the upper part of the trunk. That is good logic, but not necessarily correct. You would need to recognize that this tree is being VERY tough, which is a good manly trait, by standing naked out in the snow for an extended period of time. Yup… THAT’s how you can tell it’s a male :) :)
