Making the most of winter by Fremme
Natasha and I out of one of our snowshoeing hikes through the forest here in Whistler near Logger’s Lake along a trail called Riverside. All to say, it’s a beautiful 10km hike through the forest. Even if we had a slow start to our winter, I can tell you right now that winter is here and so is the snow as you can tell here. We were first to brake trail here in about 2 feet of fresh snow. Anyhow, this shot was taken on one of many bridges on this trail, HDR, so composed of 3 braketted images. Canon Xt, Sigma 17 to 35 mm lens , HDR image.and better viewed full screen / Cheers

Risky Business-----OUCH by Fremme
Ok, so I’m not a huge fan of posting images of people crashing, question of respect and mostly when they are injured but in this case, only the ego got crushed as this “DUDE” was bragging to his bodies how to do this trick…. ya seems like he’s got to go back to the drawing board if you ask me. The important lesson learned, don’t brag, learn, try, have fun and mostly be safe and just like this guy, wear a helmet if you ride in the park and want to jump just in case in land on something else then your board or skis. Canon XT, Canon 70 to 200mm , Iso 200, overcast grey day and better viewed full screen to feel the pain

Resolutions and Aiming for in 2009 on Redbubble / (This should be done by everyone on redbubble, in order to stimulate everyone and to do his/her best to promote his/her art. I hope that this journal is accepted in every group. This will produce more constructive work both for the individuals and also for the groups) 2008 has passed by and a new year has started. Everyone has his/her own resolutions and aims for the New Year. I will discuss mine with you. Emotions / On several times, I was on the verge of leaving Redbubble, but there was always something that told me NO. Most of this something was YOU : / YOU who bought my card, / YOU who add me to your watchlist, / YOU who favored my work, and / YOU who commented on my work. 2008 / So, with your help, this year I will aim for big!! / During 2008 I had nearly 20000 views(19506) on my art (excluding journals & clothing). / During December 2008 I had over 3000 views, my work was featured 25 times, I was featured 4 times, 2* of my art were used as avatars and I had a *photo featured on the redbubble homepage. 2009 / For 2009 I am aiming for some 36000 views (bringing a total of some 56000). / I am also aiming to sell at least SIX pieces of art. / (all this can only happen with your help). Also, since October, I stared my Monthly Journals where I record all my happenings in the respective month. Another idea that I came with was to create journals which gather together some photos to form a set. In this way, people visiting your page can get a good picture of what you are up to, and instead of one photo, you can sell a whole set:- / Maltese Boats / From the Past / I will gradually continue to increase these number of sets, and I will create a new Journal called Sets which will include a link to alll my sets. Now, YOU - / What are your aims? / What are you expecting from yourself in redbubble during 2009 ? Is there anything that I can help you with? / DO NOT HESITATE TO CONTACT ME. / (by the way – I am just a rookie/amateur in photography, but I am sure that I will expand my talent AND YOU CAN DO IT TOO) I JUST HOPE THAT WITH THIS JOURNAL I AM DELIVERING SOMETHING POSITIVE TO YOU MY LATEST WORK / Regards, Christian Zammit / Visit my gallery / Monthly Journals

We experienced many days of this deep cold warming only to around minus -29-30F occasionally. Brrrr!!! It was an indescribable cold. Yet, it was my last two weeks in Alaska as I was returning to Maui! ‘Ae, I am so happy to have seen the Yukon Quest, it was thrilling! I have posted and uploaded the teams and participants photos, if you would like to see them drop me a note. More information on this epic Yukon Quest 2008 1000 Mile International Sled Dog Race, ‘the toughest sled dog race in the world’, may be found on their official website. “More on these beautiful canine athletes may be found here”: http://www.yukonquest.com/site/sled-dogs-in-the-north/ Through the years the beautiful dogs are chosen from among thousands of dogs and are not even considered unless they enjoy the teamwork and pulling the sleds. They are carefully and genetically bred and well cared for with optimum veterinarian care and diet, before, during and throughout the race. During the start with each team there is a thorough Veterinarian inspection to be sure each dog is healthy. They check their feet, their ears and mouths, their coats and their disposition. These comprehensive Veterinarian checks are throughout the race along the way at each checkpoint to ensure the health and safety of the dogs. There are dog drops as well to pull the dogs out of the race if they are injured, to help them recover. The dogs health, safety and well being are the top priority with the Musher, and with everyone involved in the Yukon Quest. The dogs are the stars of the Yukon Quest, and they are all winners!! / They are the best of the best!!!

About This Group
Group description
A gallery area dedicated to showcasing work from anyone who’s interested in
snowboard, skiing and general wintersports photography, design and artwork.
Group guidelines
Only photography relating to snowboarding & skiing should be posted, whether it’s action shots from your last holiday, moments in the pipe ‘n’ park
captured with your camera, or scenics that simply say without words just
what it’s like to be out on the slopes.
- Snowboarding and skiing work only (maybe snowball fights too)
- Think quality over quantity when submitting works
- Photography, design, artwork – it’s all welcome (providing it’s snow-oriented)
It’s your photography, design and artwork so tell us what the shot means to you, where it was taken and any other info that will help your winter sports brethren appreciate the moment you took the shot. There are no prizes on offer for the best works, just the admiration and respect of your winter sports peers, bragging rights down the pub, and the chance to inspire people who’ve not yet tried anything that involved hurtling down a snow-covered hill at crayzee speeds!
Anyone who’s gagging to see even more wintersports goodness, click on www.fearofthepark.com to see some classy, sweet photos.
