I was fortunate enough to travel to Italy when I was 19, this was taken as just a naive snap happy photo on my dodgy old-school camera and I’ve cleaned it up and added some oomph in photoshop.

It’s all been said, above. Makes me think of a very primitive gadget that my aunt and uncle used to let me view photos with. There were two shots of the same picture and looking through this viewer the scene seemed three-dimensional. That’s the feeling I get here, plus the vintage feel of the old pictures I used to look at.

I just love this shot and have a similar one myself taken on a Minolta – not digital! I have two things to ask – how did you achieve the beautiful grainy pink tones, which suit this shot so well and also how did you bring it to high enough resolution to posterize it?

Thanks for your comment Lisa. I wouldn’t know where to begin to try to explain how I got the effect on this one as I literally just played around with a whole bunch of different things, bringing in textures and other images and used their tones and I also used a canvas filter to give it that grainy vintage look. To get the image so large, I scanned the original photo in at high res and tweaked it in photoshop :)
