The Green Man
Acrylic painting on canvas inspired by folklore and the mysterious ‘Face Through the Leaves’ which has always fascinated me. I used holly and ivy from my garden to refer to for this painting. Images of the Green Man have been found all around the world.

This is great. I just love whimsical art. If you type Whimsicalism into a Google search engine you’ll find the Whimsicalism Site. Your work would fit in well on that site. I have been on a while myself.

Hey thanks for the positive comments, much appreciated. I’ll investigate that site too Dave, thanks for the tip.

Thanks everyone and a Happy New Year to you all…heres wishing you all a very creative year ahead. The Green Man sold last week, so now has a home. I am quite attracted to the folklore figure and intend to research him more and hopefully be inspired to create another version of the ‘Face in the Leaves’ later this year.

This is very engaging, makes me want to hear what his voice would sound like!
Anni Morris
Thanks Aelene, I think his voice would sound low and gruff and carry on the wind and rustling leaves. ~ Anni :)
