KARO LADY - ETHIOPIA
The Karo People are one of several tribal groups living in the Omo Valley – Southern Ethiopia. The Karos are well known for their body-painting. This lady was photographed in her village, high above the Omo River. In the distance, a storm is gathering over the mountains of Sudan.

What a wonderful photo! What strikes me as so profound is the amount of time this woman must spend on her hair, paint and jewelry which matches her clothing. Women are the same all over the world. :) She’s beautiful!

Thanks, Joan. Many of these African tribal ladies are incredibly beautiful. These Karo people had no idea that my wife and I were going to show up in their remote village, so I have to assume that they fix themselves up like this on a daily basis. They didn’t want money, but they were happy with a gift lipstick and razor blades.
