Apple Blossom Time
Last spring’s apple blossoms – oh how I wish for spring right now!
Taken along Mississaga Street in Orillia – Mississaga St. is the “main” street of town (well, one of them…the one with the shops); from the top of the street (near the old OPP Station) one can walk through residential neighbourhoods, past the hospital and medical centers, down through the shopping district and finally fronting on Lake Couchiching with Port of Orillia on the left and Veteran’s Park on the right.
In the residential areas one can find a variety of trees, including flowering apple, crabapple, cherry and many types of lilac, as well as non-flowering like maple (in many varieties), and fir trees, like blue spruce and white pine.
Most of these tree varieties are repeated at the waterfront park (Couchiching Beach Park) where the spring brings multitudes of blossoms in a myriad of colours.
