These are just some of the children in Ungwa/Fada village, that are in desperate need of our help.
Disabled by rickets and isolated by most others, they struggle each day just to survive. Lack of Vitamin [D] and other minerals cause Rickets.
I observed them during three days, as I lived in the village. They stayed together in a small group, and watched the other children run and play together.
Other disabled children did the same. Three children could not walk and crawled on their hands and knees. One could only move along on her bottom. There is NO HELP or CARE for these children.
We will with your Prayers, and Financial donations be able to feed, cloth and train as many as we can in skills that will help them. The Abundant Harvest Project, which will start in early 2009, will eliminate Rickets adn most other diseases.
I will be going ut on 9th October to this and other villages.
Please do what you can to help.

Emotionally provoking photojouralism…you do not see this on the world news or in a national georgraphic magazine…this is bringing tears to my eyes.

there is so much innocence in it as the kids are not aware of so many things

This is so very sad to see children in this state , really distressing . Why is there no help or medical for them ?
TREVOR IRWIN
Thank you for all your comments, Prayers and support. I really need you, as does the Lord. Irene, I will try and answer your question in brief. One could blame Governmemts, War, Tribal indiferences, lack of concern and corruption. All paly a part in driving the great gulf between those who have and those who have not.
In all the Africican villages in rural Isolated area,s and in some towns, there is no care for disabled. Governments say there is not enough money. but I have found that Corruption at Local levels play a big part. In Ungwa/Fada village there is no social services that deal with disabled children. It,s even worse in tunga/Zuga villages and surrounding villages. roads are non existant, Clean water is Scarce, and Pharmacies and Hospitals are far and few between.
It is ad to say, that those who are sick, but not disabled or mained do get priority. Governments tend to focus on cities and towns more than provide care and training to the disabled.
I have seen disabled children crawl like animals on their bellies and their hands and knee’s bleeding and infected. They had no form of vehicle to transport their bodies around. A few voluntary organisations do make little trollies, almost like skate boadrs adn they can move around a little. But most Government health authorities focus on highly populated areas.
This is one reason why God sent me to the rural and isolated people. As long as our Lord grants me life here on earth, I will never stop Preaching the Good nes Gospel of Jesus. But also I will not stop in my efforts to set up a care system in these areas. It costs just £30.00 -$60.00 to provide a proper trolly with padding adn long lasting wheels, so a child can at least move around.
It costs £130.00 make and supply a special trike that a bigger child or adult can use. This is powered like a bycicle, but with the hands on riased pedals.
With the children above, their disability will get much worse adn most at some point will loose their ability to walk.
But we can stem this by providing Good qua;lity food, and clean water. This is what the Tractor, Plough, Harrow and trailer will do. As these children adn indeed all the people in these isolated villages produce more heathy food, rickets, intestinial worms and many other diseases that come from malnutrition will become almost a thing of the past.
Right now , I am trying hard to raise £900 towards medicines to treat Intestinal worms, and other minor diseases and sicknesses, before the 2009 project. I pray that I don,t fail, becasue some of these children and many others will die. I love them so much, Just as much as my own children. You are right Irene, If All in redbubble would just give £5.00 – $10.00, we could treat around 2000 children, buy the farming machinary and save many.
Hope tis answere your question, though I have strayed a little in my answer. God Bless you Irene and all of you who pray, and have made a donation. God will as he says reward you all with much. 100% of all money donated is used for the relief of these children.

The parents should be fixed or taught birth control. This has gone on generation after generation after generation…................................................................................
TREVOR IRWIN
I agree with you Stephaniek to some degree. We do teach them about birth control, at least where I wadn the small team work. It does work in among certain areas in Developing countries. But Before we can impliment it among all tribes, there are challanges we must address, before it is successful.
The Kambari Tribe and many have approx 5-6 children. The death rate is 1 in 3 among childrn aged 0-5 years old. This is due to little or in our case no medical care, Lack of food and clean water. This is not the fault of the Kambari Tribe. They have no tools, poor soil, due to little fertailzers and bad farming methods and drought. The Governments have failed to provide help to the very remote or isolated areas, becasue they have not enough money, or focus their efforts in highly populated areas.
So with this kind of background, many have children year after year hoping that at least two will survive to help the parents and care for them when they become sick or unable to work the land.
Until we manage to provide the tools and medical care, almost none of the Kambari tribe and others will practice birth control. If they now limit through birth control just two childreb oer family, in this current situation, many will die and no one will be left to carry on.
I hoe you will see the logic. It is better to have just two children, feed, educate adn care for them, than have 5 or 7 children, adn they all are hungry adn sick. But here in Kebbe State, they camnnot even feed themselves.
This is why, I and the small team of people, who are not on a salary or expense account are totally dedicated in not only Preaching the gospel of Jesus to them and giving them hope and joy. We also are committed to providing Tractors, Ploughs and other medical care.
This is why we need people like you to not only feel sorry, but to actually sow a financial seed towards this end.
I hope i have not offended yiou Stephaniek. But this is what it really is like. I live and work among them. Please Pray for me, the upcomiong Mission 0n 9th October and the people.

What a though provoking and heart breaking image Trevor, Its wonderful to know that they are loved by such a wonderful God if no one else…
Avril Brand
Its so sad, Trevor. Sadder still that these are preventable diseases. It makes me so angry that the ‘leaders’ of these countries live in luxury while the poor people suffer so! I can understand their anguish as well as yours.

What a heartbreaking photo, Trevor. It really is a National Geographic photo – certainly news worthy. Bless you for what you’re accomplishing over there. We have no idea what life is like for most of the world. Bless these childrens’ little hearts. It makes me weep….I want to hug each one and play with them and let them know they’re loved. And thank God, that’s what you’re there doing!! Bless your ministry.
TREVOR IRWIN

Extreme rickets—my husband’s family has the gene for it, and everybody, male and female, old and young, have it. Some got braces as children, some didn’t. They’re too expensive for uninsured children in the US. I wonder if you can get any used braces up here?
