Leptospermum – Tea tree. Given the name of teatree, when Captain Cook and his crew used the aromatic leaves to make ‘tea’ on their landfalls in New Zealand and Australia.

The genus of evergreen shrubs belong to the myrtle family and flower in spring in colours ranging from white to deep pink/red
