SKY BATTLE by DALE CRUM
This piece is all hand drawn in PAINTER 10--over a photo I took of thunder clouds. I looked at nothing as a reference, but a book of space photos—the rest of this stuff lives inside my head. It has always been my constant personal challenge, to create from my mind and heart; rather than to take some of the easier paths that the internet affords us these days. / I believe my art must be mine only, and therefore I choose to draw from the deep ocean of life, love, and war that makes me-me. When I sign my DC on my work-I must know in my heart that it is MINE ONLY. / *I have and will continue to collaborate with some of the elite artists and photographers I love and respect so much. I do consider that to be the one exception to my rule. / I would also like to challenge more of the younger artists to pull back from the easy trend of using royalty-free images and to rather buy and learn how to use a camera of your own. This makes ALL of your work—your work. No other person will ever shoot the shot you would shoot. This is the ONLY way to preserve your vision, and to have that JOY that comes only from knowing that there is only ONE place on earth where MY WORK can be found. Not a DIS—-just an artistically historic fact.

MONITO HERMOSO now on Amazon by Mike Cressy
The time has come for the overflow of PR and Marketing that I’ll have to do to get this book sold over and over but the first part is done. Monito Hermoso is now available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Powell’s and all booksellers! So go to your favorite bookstore and order a copy or stop by one of the afore mentioned online booksellers and buy you a copy of this fun and visually exciting book. Volume 2 is in the works, as is the Doodle Book and RED Sketches book. Not to mention the Graphic Novel that I’ve been intensely working on for the last 4 months. (I’m into the second quarter of it. It’s a big book,... long story.) / So stop by Amazon.com and leave some comments please. I’d appreciate it. / Thanks and have a great summer weekend! / -MC
