Drawn in 2007. Age 20. Drawn with 2H, HB, 2B, 3B pencils on smooth bristol board. This here is my late best friend Morris, who I adored, loved and cherished. Sadly he passed away in 2007 so I drew him as I remembered him best… / As a beautiful, young and healthy kitten. Childhood can be difficult time for many of us and through a number of my recent writngs and drawings i’ve tried to capture my feelings as a child; feelings of emptiness and lonliness. But Morris was always there. He was always there to offer his warm comfort. He was there when no one else was… / He is the most pleasant memory of my childhood and i feel a little less whole without him. I miss him dearly… but he will always remain loved and never will he be forgotton. Bless his little paws. The original of this drawing belongs to a very dear friend of mine, who I miss very much. I hope he is well… Though I am confident he is looking after Morris, just as much as Morris is looking after him.

I didn’t mean for it to be so super-cute… perhaps i’ll do a more serious version someday…with her heart held in her hands… but for now, here’s the cute version…by far the cutest thing i’ve ever created! Stay tuned for the huge version of this design, as well a a pyjama top version!!! coming soon….to a bubble near you!!! As a once psychology major, I was intrigued by Freud’s theory on the id and ego of the human psyche. It has been many years since those classes so my words may be somewhat off. But this piece is a self representation (aren’t they all?) of myself and how the “id” and “ego” play in our life decisions. We all seek pleasure and that constant feeling of euphoria, and our “id”’s only goal is to achieve those feelings without worry or care about the consequences of such actions. It is our “ego” that keeps the “id” in line, allowing us to think before we act, and to be able to foresee what may come of this pleasure seeking. It is a constant battle that wages on beneath our skin and sometimes the “id” overcomes. Some choose to live only by the “id”s bidding and never realize the destruction they leave behind when seeking their pleasures. I have been through that lifestyle once, and as much as I enjoyed such pleasures in bountiful amounts….the aftershock of those actions can still be felt today.

Recently i bought a new, hard covered, art diary. Didnt really need to buy yet another one, but it was so nice, the pages are a heavier weight than standard diaries, and they are a beautiful off white colour too! I could have bought it just to flick through the blank pages, looking at them an feeling them (hehe, weirdo!). I dont know what it is, but i love blank diaries, sketch books, journals etc that have lots of blank pages that say… “Please fill me with SOMETHING!” There is just something about them! Anyways, here is my second drawing i have completed in it (my first drawing is not so good!) Her name is Carnivool Princess. One of my favourite bands is Karnivool, and i was lisening to them while i was drawing her, so she is a little inspired by them.

This piece is based on how much we base our decisions off of love. Not condemning it, but rather it intrigues me what those will do in the name of love. Many people have died for love, have fought for love, and have sacrificed for love. It’s a powerful feeling that enslaves us, causing us to react in ways we may not deem normal in a clear state of mind, but like they say, Love is intoxicating. 2nd traditional piece I’ve ever attempted with acrylics. It was (key word, was, because it was sold lol)a 18×24 inch stretched canvas with acrylics and india ink. I miss this piece dearly, but at least I have a wonderful jpeg of it’s remains.
