Taken in Westfield, NJ 2007 – Just an adorable little house in the height of autumn

  • As sure as the sun rises each morning, so it is with God’s Great Faithfulness to watch over, protect and provide for each of us, His children. The dawning of a perfect Autumn day as the sun creeps up through the mist that has settled over Thompson’s Creek, on the historic Charlemont sheep station. Lamentations 3:22-24 (New International Version) / New International Version (NIV) 22 Because of the LORD’s great love we are not consumed, / for his compassions never fail. 23 They are new every morning; / great is your faithfulness. 24 I say to myself, “The LORD is my portion; / therefore I will wait for him. The words to the wonderful old hymn penned back in 1923, still stand testament today! Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father; / There is no shadow of turning with Thee; / Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not; / As Thou hast been, Thou forever will be. Refrain Great is Thy faithfulness! / Great is Thy faithfulness! / Morning by morning new mercies I see. / All I have needed Thy hand hath provided; / Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me! Summer and winter and springtime and harvest, / Sun, moon and stars in their courses above / Join with all nature in manifold witness / To Thy great faithfulness, mercy and love. Refrain Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth / Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide; / Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow, / Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside! Refrain Words by Thomas O. Chisholm / (c) 1923. Ren. 1951 Hope Publishing Co., Carol Stream, IL 60188, / www.hopepublishing.com / All rights reserved. Used by permission. • Bipolar
    by Simone Byrne

    US$4.56–US$121.60

© Simone Byrne Photography, 2007. All Rights Reserved. 29th November, 2007 Sunset at the ‘Tree Graveyard’. A conceptual image (diptych) for all those who are plagued by the “black dog”. Redesdale, Victoria, Australia What is Bipolar? Bipolar disorder is a medical illness that causes severe mood swings which are caused by a chemical imbalance in the brain. People who suffer from this illness lack the control mechanism that enables them to pull away from emotional situations and as such their lives may spiral out of control, through no fault of their own. The illness is very serious and very real and affects not only the sufferer, but their friends and family as well. There is still a lot of stigma attached to this disease, given that it is a mental illness to which very little is known about. It is incurable but can be controlled by diet and medication. Most bipolar types are brilliant, creative, inspiring, loving, generous and caring individuals who contribute to making the world a better place, but all the while they themselves struggle every day to survive. What a sight this was, the sky was burning orange! I love how the city looks so small compared to that enormous storm cloud… this was taken at ascot, looking over Brisbane 17.05.08 at 4:55 pm just as the sun was setting… This storm was incredible to watch, until i had to run back to the car because the wind was going to pick me and my camera up + within minutes the city wasn’t visible anymore…

  • Soar the Heavens
    by amarica

    US$3.42–US$91.20

My wings soar the heavens, / caught in the nightwind, / carried by a moonbeam, / far above the horizon. / I see the cliffs below. My eyes search the distance, / a flicker of light perhaps / will reflect off the moon to guide me / to a place where you are waiting. / I beseach the shadows below. My heart longs for your nearness, / and pounds deep within my breast, / aching from the memory of you, / the sweet scent of your essence. / Come to me from the rocks below. My wings grow weary in my flight, / my endless quest our souls to re-unite / to feel your warm sweet touch / upon my furrowed brow. / For hours I have circled the shores below. My soul cannot go on without you, / of which you are my existence, / the very air I breath, / you are the other half of me. / Without you, I will end it on the earth below. I drift in the light of the moon / and wait for you to come to me soon. © amari / ____ I created this work with a composite of several of my photographs and a fractal image created with Apophysis fractal art program. Images were overlayed using Photoshop CS3. Digitally enhanced with Photomatix HDR, edited with Photoshop CS3 and Micrografx. The original cliffs are a photograph of the cliffs in Dana Point, California. The moon was a shot taken down in Long Beach one night when the moon was low and huge. The Hawk is from the skies of San Diego. I spent many nights on the beach of Dana Point enjoying a moonlit night like this. I love the moon in the background with the Hawk sharing its light with one lone tree. Images Do Not Belong To The Public Domain. • A Mother Nature's Gift
    by Paolo De Faveri

    US$5.13–US$136.80

Mother nature presented me on a last October evening with one of those sunsets that you can hope to see just once a year if you’re lucky. / High layers of scattered clouds, a pure, clean atmosphere and the fact that at the end of october the twilight lasts almost a hour, all this elements contributed in producing a stunning natural show. This is the Po River near to Carignano in Piedmont, Italy. I hope you enjoy it, thanks for dropping by. Paolo

  • Benniworth Tunnel
    by compoundeye

    US$23.66–US$126.16

On a recent expedition, Magoo2 and I discovered this old rail tunnel in the Lincolnshire Wolds – which was no mean feat,- we had the nettle stings, mud scrapes and bruises [from being whacked by various tree branches during our ‘controlled descent’ of the overgrown gulley] to prove it! The tunnel seems to be Victorian, from the steeply vaulted roof, and is ‘faced and lined’ with higher grade materials [for show] at each end but bellies out to a larger bore built of red brick further in. There’s no trickery with this one, only ambient light and a ‘star effect’ courtesy of an f8 aperture.
