Wild deer in Yosemite National Park – USA I spent ages with a group of these deer. Walked slowly to approach, after approx 15 mins i was surrounded by them, couldn’t shoot as they were too close, one just 10cm away, so we just hung out together until the cold drove me inside. Was a beautiful experience. They have the most gorgeous eyes :)) I loved every minute in Yosemite. Pendle Witch Country, in the Lancashire Pennines, is an area lying between (but also including) the north western edge of Bronte Country and the Ribble Valley, to the north and north east of which are Bowland, and the south western Yorkshire Dales respectively. The area is dominated by the dark brooding mass of Pendle Hill (shown above) and made famous (nay infamous) for its grim and fiendish association with the “Witches of Pendle”...

You follow a path along the wall which takes you right over the hill at the lowest part of the Pentlands near Edinburgh, known as Cauld Stane Slap, to the other side near Carlops … an 8 mile walk which is popular with hikers – only thing, unless you’ve got someone to meet you with a car on the other side … you have to walk all the way back!!

The Pukeko, or New Zealand Swamp Hen is a member of the rail family, and is similar to other species found all over the world. It is one of the few New Zealand native birds to have flourished since the arrival of man, and can be found in almost any grassland area, especially in swampy locations. Groups will often be seen foraging for food in road-side areas. I have come to the conclusion that Pukeko are suicidal. I so often see them on the side of the road, dithering, darting backwards and forwards, looking for an opportunity to cross, only to come back later to see them squashed on the road. They seem to have no road sense at all. /

I went to a friends house a couple days ago…knowing I would have the opportunity to shoot this very interesting growth here in the woods of Northern Cali..the light was perfect.

Taken in Snowdonia, Wales. Llyn Llydaw (from the Welsh meaning Brittany lake) is a lake in Snowdonia National Park on the flanks of Snowdon, Wales’ highest mountain. This long thin lake has formed in a cwm about one-third of the way up the mountain. Snowdon (Welsh: Yr Wyddfa), is the highest mountain in Wales and the third most prominent peak in the British Isles. It is Great Britain’s highest mountain south of the Scottish Highlands, and has been described as “probably the busiest mountain in Britain.” It is located in Snowdonia National Park (Welsh: Parc Cenedlaethol Eryri), in Gwynedd. The summit is known as Yr Wyddfa, Welsh for “the tumulus” and lies at an altitude of 1,085 metres (3,560 ft) above sea level.
