This image came about in an awesome way for me. Two weeks earlier, the model, Margrit, was telling me a bit about her life. She’s lived and travelled in many countries and taken lots of opportunities. She has also achieved great success with her photography. Several weeks later, I had an unusual chance to photograph her in an old train – the perfect location to reflect her life’s journey. / In Australia, Margrit has achieved her LAPS and AAPS, and is the only West Australian women to received international photographic honours AFIAP. She’s a perfectionist and it shines through in her work. Visit Margrit’s website

Ever felt the heavy heart of saying goodbye to someone? Train Stations, airports, bus stops…they can be places of great sadness. When I found this little station, I found myself thinking of the work of two photographers: Don an awesome photographer who loves trains! Check out his breath-taking landscapes and other great work, including this train . He’s given me so much help over the past few years – a generous soul with a great eye for photography. Paul Louis Villani also leapt into my head. He has some incredible images of trains and train stations. While I wouldn’t even attempt to immitate his style, his work gives me so much inspiration, and got me thinking about how I would like to present this scene. My fav image of his is Still standing

Sales of this Design? – 1 sale so far :) / />Framed Print / / Mounted Print Pilgrimage / mixed media production on paper, ink, pastel, charcoal and acrylic Pilgrimage is about our passage through life, the boat represents the vehicle by which she travels, the wise animal represents the voice of wisdom, the bare tree represents a brand new slate on which to write each day, the crown speaks of how special each individual is. Pearls represent the tears of the moon and remind us that life may not be easy and we all struggle. The lotus represents strength through love. The daisies are for simplicity. The bindi is for spiritual insight. The red sky at night is a sailor’s delight…for a red sky at night indicates smooth seas on the morrow! As a fisherman’s daughter, I have witnessed the strange phenomena of a red sky numerous times….always turns out to be calm on the water next day – a great indicator.. red skies are a great indicator of smooth sailing ahead / Customers are welcome to email enquiries to karintaylor@exemail.com.au

I was fortunate enough to travel to Italy when I was 19, this was taken as just a naive snap happy photo on my dodgy old-school camera and I’ve cleaned it up and added some oomph in photoshop. (It’s better if you click on the image to see a larger view)

Wind Dancer- a poem by Miss Jordan 9 years old Out there on the deep blue sea / Not far from the island of Anglessey / In the fog shrouding the boat / Wind Dancer sails gracefully afloat The coast is not very far away / Soon she will dock in the bay / Out there sails the Wind Dancer / The mighty boat, the wave prancer

From my collection: Darkly, deeply, beautifully blue! / © 2008 Sharon Anne Mau / Maunaleo ~ Journey With Spirit This is one of my signature pieces, a composite of seven of my images blended into one using photographs I have taken on the lava seacliffs of Wa’ianapanapa Maui Hawai’i blended with Alaska skies and an enormous full moon. Maunaleo ~ Journey With Spirit is dedicated with deepest respect and appreciation for Keali’i Reichel. This beautiful mele is one of my favourites and I love the gentle power of his angelic voice!! A finely woven cloak for the highlands. / A cherished one, respected for power and strength. / Esteemed, treasured, touched by heaven. / Capped by the silver of the rolling mists. / An adornment for that gentle heart. / Embraced by the surrounding ridges. / One to hold close, to hold near, to love. / One dear to the heart, precious, exalted. / This is my garland of affection for Maunaleo in its beauty. / Glorified by the Mälie breeze. / A cherished one, respected for power and strength. / Esteemed, treasured, touched by heaven. / For Maunaleo is the serenity of deep love. / Beloved are you, beloved indeed.” .... ©2007-2008 Aimee Stewart, Foxfires – please see my CC Terms of Use before considering using this image for any personal or commercial use http://foxfires.deviantart.com/journal/15905899/ / —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—- Artist’s Notes: I’ve had this picture in my mind for quite awhile. As a child, my treasured stuffed animal (as all children tend to have) was a little squirrel who went on every kind of adventure with me, and my favorite story was about a lil’ squirrel named “Miss Suzy” – written by Miriam Young, and illustrated by Arnold Lobel. I love the thought of the tiny leaf-boat capturing the attention of the denizens of the pond as it passes by en route to a wonderous place.

Or journey of the lost soul…I guess every day is a failure. I fail to live up to my own life. But I will die trying! I’m ready to make a leap of consciousness. The old struggles are no longer interesting. They do not engage my mind. My energy passes through them-they are mirages. I once sought big monuments of proof that I existed-no more. For me going deeper is better. Deeper insight is all that I seek…and a beautiful cup to drink from.
