Upper Yosemite Fall as seen from across one of the meadows in early spring. Yosemite National Park, California, is perhaps the world’s best known example of a glacier-carved canyon. Yosemite’s giant waterfalls, towering cliffs, rounded domes, and massive monoliths make it a natural marvel and one of the most visited places on Earth. Yosemite National Park is located in California’s Eastern Sierras. It is comprised of Yosemite Valley, Tuolumne Meadows, Glacier Point, and other high country wilderness areas. One of the main attractions of Yosemite are its majestic waterfalls. The main falls are Yosemite, Bridalveil, Vernal, Nevada, and Illilouette. The best time to visit the falls is in May since the water is gushing. Bridalveil usually has a neat rainbow in the afternoon.

This is Lake Gunn, on the way to Milford Sound, on the South Island of New Zealand. The lake is within the boundary of the Fiordland National Park, and is surrounded by native bush. It was summer and early morning when this shot was taken.

Seeing this beautiful tree embracing these delicate flowers touched my heart….it is as if the tree is saying, ‘I will shelter you and hold you up as you grow and you can share my space…..we will grow together’....and the flowers have taken the shape of a heart….returning the love….. Imagine a world where we all give forth that kind of compassion and caring for our fellow beings…..what a wonderful world…... Taken in Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado.

Walking to a view point of Fox Glacier, in New Zealand, we crossed this beautiful waterfall. It is times like these, that you don’t wish to be anywhere else. Further down, we had to cross this over slippery rocks and rushing water. It is a wonder I didn’t fall in. Fox Glacier is part of the Westland Tai Poutini National Park (established 1960) which extends from the highest peaks of Kā Tiritiri o te Moana/Southern Alps to the remote beaches of the wild West Coast. It is an area of magnificent primeval vistas; snow-capped mountains, glaciers, forests, tussock grasslands, coast, lakes, rivers and wetlands. This world-class scenic landscape has been recognised as such with World Heritage status. This was taken with a Canon DSLR EOS 350D camera.

This was taken in the early morning at Lake Gunn, on the way to Milford Sound, in New Zealand. There was no-one around, at the height of the tourist season and it was so peaceful and serene. This was taken with a Canon DSLR EOS 350D camera. The lake is within the boundary of the Fiordland National Park, and is surrounded by native bush.
