First Artwork I have done for quite a while, hope you like it :-) “There is a Native American legend that says, ” If you have a secret wish, capture a butterfly and whisper your wish to it. By setting the butterfly free, you are helping to restore the balance of nature, and your wish will surely be granted.” The butterfly is a powerful symbol for transformation. It leaves the safety of the cocoon in it’s new form. This is an excellent image for anyone contemplating, or in the midst of a major change. A butterfly is a strong symbol of metamorphosis, with distinct stages. The butterfly is a reminder to make changes when the opportunity arises. Change and transformation are inevitable for us all, but it does not have to be traumatic.Butterfly symbolism is also closely tied to the idea of spirits and souls. It has been used in many religions and cultures. Psyche is the Greek word for both soul and butterfly. The belief was that butterflies were human souls searching for a new reincarnation, which gave the creature uncanny and sometimes ominous connotations. This symbolism was also used in early Christianity as a symbol of the soul. Celts thought that women became pregnant by swallowing butterfly souls. Two sleeping cats BUY PRINTS, SAVE ANIMALS. / 50 % of my profits of sold prints will go directly into a our national animal shelter “garden eden” which doesn’t have enough money. The Polititions think that we need a new soccer stadium instead of a good animal shelter. Poor animals are starving and dying, but thank god, we have a new soccer stadium. / Help me to help those poor animals. Thank you very much.

Drawn in 2007. Age 20. Drawn with 2H, HB, 2B, 3B pencils on smooth bristol board. This here is my late best friend Morris, who I adored, loved and cherished. Sadly he passed away in 2007 so I drew him as I remembered him best… / As a beautiful, young and healthy kitten. Childhood can be difficult time for many of us and through a number of my recent writngs and drawings i’ve tried to capture my feelings as a child; feelings of emptiness and lonliness. But Morris was always there. He was always there to offer his warm comfort. He was there when no one else was… / He is the most pleasant memory of my childhood and i feel a little less whole without him. I miss him dearly… but he will always remain loved and never will he be forgotton. Bless his little paws. The original of this drawing belongs to a very dear friend of mine, who I miss very much. I hope he is well… Though I am confident he is looking after Morris, just as much as Morris is looking after him.

Oil Pastels (Original Sold) Concept: “If I were an owl, I will cover you with my wings on a cold winter night.” This is a piece I did many years ago, I did a mini series of what it would be like and what I would like to do if I were an owl :D So over here,I wanted to be a useful owl and make my wings into a colourful quilt and cover those in need of love and warmth.

This is a symbolic painting representing the idea of re-incarnation and rebirth. The sleeping figure defines the peace or sleep of passing over and the awakened figure is representational of the guardian spirit awaiting on the otherside to greet the soul upon its arrival. I relied heavily upon symbology and colour for this Celtic inspired piece and I hope that upon looking into it you can find a personal message that strikes a chord for yourself. It also echoes heavily on the love reunited theme as ‘love is eternal’ and I’m a big softy so there…I hope you enjoy looking at this piece :) Kate :)

This started off as an encouragment card, send this card to someone who hasnt been getting restful sleep lately due to all the preoccupations with his/her woes.
