Two Asian elephants touch trunks in a moment of friendship. Taken at the St. Louis Zoo. / / Part of my line promoting awareness and raising funds for endangered species globally. Healesville, Victoria, Australia. I spotted this while driving along a country road. Stopped the car and trampled / fells down a steep, wet gully to get here and snapped away.

A lone maple leaf somehow stuck to rotting tree trunk, mayb e caught on the lichen. Both tree and leaf appear close to be reclaimed by the forest itself.

In Hilo on the big Island of Hawaii just across the street from a hospital is this banyan tree in a grove of very large banyan trees. This was taken with a tripod as it was dark underneath the canopy of leaves.

Another shot of the same Japanese maple tree as in Eden I at the Portland Oregon Japanese Gardens, except this one was shot exactly one week after. It is amazing how fast seasons can change :) As is.

Underneath the Eucalypts, / Upon the forest floor, / I came upon a tree trunk with a little wooden door… / I knocked on it and waited… / Though nobody was at home, / I knew it was the dwelling of a little forest gnome. Captured at Forth, Tasmania.

My first visit to this delightful place and I was most impressed. There was plenty of water coming over the fall as it had rained the night before. It is situated in the Yorkshire Dales not far from the Town of Settle. This is a HDR image. 3 shots at 2, 0, -2 processed in Dynamic HDR software.

A juvenile male Elephant Seal is looking backwards at the photographer (me) Image was taken at San Semion California. This young male was a part of a group that had at least 500 Elephant Seals. The pacific coast is home for this wonderful mammals and San Semion has several locations where they are protected. This was taken away from the tourist location, and on a streach of the beach where no people can go. distance was about 5 feet away from the animal. 50% of all proceeds from the sale of this image will be donated to the Marine Conservation Organization Consider my other images of Elephant Seals /

He scurries up the trunk in search for the perfect branch. Spotting the lonely limb, he darts quickly to the end of it and begins to shake it wildly. Then, in a split second he hurtles down the tree and throws himself under the falling leaves. Bliss. Hand Drawn and edited via Illustrator.
